Electromagnetic inspired acoustic leaky-wave antenna

2016 10th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2016
In this article we make an analogy between Electromagnetic and Acoustic transmission-line modelling. Then we use this to introduce acoustic transmission-line metamaterials and finally we introduce the acoustic leaky-wave antenna on the basis of previous steps.

Leaky-wave antennas I: Rectangular waveguides

IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1959
A microwave network approach is employed for the description and analysis of leaky-wave antennas. This approach is based on a transverse resonance procedure which yields the complex propagation constants for the leaky waves. A perturbation technique is then applied to the resonance equation to obtain results in simple and practical form.

Uniform Waveguide Leaky Wave Antennas

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
Traveling wave antennas for the millimeter wave range face two main problems: increased metal loss, and fabrication difficulties due to the smaller wavelengths. To overcome these two problems, a new class of uniform leaky wave antennas have been introduced.

Slit-coupled microstrip leaky-wave antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. Transmitting Waves of Progress to the Next Millennium. 2000 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.00CH37118), 2002
The possibility that the longitudinal slit coupling structure to the parasitic strip conductor may be used in the leaky wave antenna design of a microstrip type has been tested. The radiation pattern and matching characteristics of a fabricated antenna were measured, and a comparison between the theoretical and the experimental results was given.

Double Structure Broadband Leaky Wave Antenna [PDF]

open access: possible, 2011
A leaky wave antenna contains a first and a second leaky wave antenna structure back to back against each other. Each antenna structure comprises a dielectric body and an elongated wave carrying structure, such as a slot in a conductive ground plane.

Double-sheath helices: Leaky-wave antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1969
A leaky-wave antenna whose radiation pattern is uniform in circumference is made of double-sheath helices. The fundamental characteristics of this antenna are discussed theoretically and experimentally. A method which produces a tapered field along its aperture to effect reduced sidelobe level, and the relationship between the dielectric supporter for ...

Leaky-wave antenna

The antenna has a layer arrangement (30) with three metallized layers (32, 34, 36) that are arranged parallel to each other and separated from each other by dielectric sheets (38, 40). Two of the layers comprise a two dimensions periodical metallization structure, and the third layer comprises a continuous metallization region. A stimulation structure (
