Compact SIW leaky wave antenna
2015 Third International Conference on Technological Advances in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (TAEECE), 2015A compact Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) Leaky-Wave Antenna (LWA) is proposed. Internal vias are inserted in the SIW in order to have narrow walls, and so reducing the size of the SIW-LWA, the new structure is called Slow Wave — Substrate Integrated Waveguide — Leaky Wave Antenna (SW-SIW-LWA), since inserting the vias induce the SW effect.

Terahertz Fabry-Perot Cavity Leaky-wave Antennas
2019 PhotonIcs & Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Spring (PIERS-Spring), 2019In this work we examine the recent efforts made in the design of either efficient or reconfigurable Fabry-Perot cavity leaky-wave antennas (FPC-LWAs) in the terahertz (THz) range. We start by discussing the radiating performance of an FPC-LWA consisting of a grounded dielectric slab (GDS) covered with a periodic arrangement of fishnet-like unit cells ...

Full wave analysis of leaky-wave antennas
2008 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2008Leakage from slotted waveguides is a well-known phenomenon and has been thoroughly investigated during the past decades. The interest in leaky-wave antennas mainly stems from the possibility of scanning the beam with frequency [1]. The analysis of slotted waveguides has been first performed by means of a transverse network representation of the open ...

B7. Leaky-Wave Coaxial Antenna
2013 30th National Radio Science Conference (NRSC), 2013Analysis and design of a coaxial leaky wave antenna with partially reflecting outer surface are presented. The leaky wave properties are controlled by adjusting the surface impedance of the outer surface, the filling dielectric constant and the dimensions of the inner and outer radii.

Stepped leaky-wave antennas for microwave and millimeter wave applications
Annales Des Télécommunications, 1997This work presents the complete general features of a recently proposed class of leaky-wave antennas, derived from stepped rectangular-section waveguides with radiating slits. Based on very favorable topological features, straightforward but extremely effective design procedures are shown to be possible for achieving sophisticated radiation properties.

Uniform Waveguide Leaky Wave Antennas
SPIE Proceedings, 1985Traveling wave antennas for the millimeter wave range face two main problems: increased metal loss, and fabrication difficulties due to the smaller wavelengths. To overcome these two problems, a new class of uniform leaky wave antennas have been introduced.

The antenna has a layer arrangement (30) with three metallized layers (32, 34, 36) that are arranged parallel to each other and separated from each other by dielectric sheets (38, 40). Two of the layers comprise a two dimensions periodical metallization structure, and the third layer comprises a continuous metallization region. A stimulation structure (
