Fosl2 Regulates FSH‐Dependent Follicle Maturation Through Feedback Amplification of FSH/FSHR Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a FOSL2‐driven positive feedback loop that amplifies FSH/FSHR signaling. During FSH‐dependent follicle maturation, FSH induces Fosl2 expression via the cAMP‐PKA‐CREB cascade. FOSL2 in turn binds the promoters of Fshr and estrogen‐biosynthesis genes to enhance their transcription, thereby increasing Fshr mRNA level and amplifying ...

Grain Boundary‐Driven Lattice Dynamics in a Solid‐State Li‐Ion Conductor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Grain boundaries in Li3OCl${\rm Li}_3{\rm OCl}$ are shown to significantly alter its lattice dynamics and induce Li‐ion vibrational hardening and anion softening. These changes hinder ion transport while promoting electronic conductivity and instability.

Organoid Brain‐Machine‐Interface Devices for Central Nervous System Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We envision organoid brain‐machine‐interface (Organoid‐BMI) devices as new biohybrid bidirectional communication pathways to connect the human CNS and the external world for personalized CNS repair and regeneration. ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) repair and regeneration suffer from tremendous clinical challenges due to current limitations in ...

Learning Community and Networked Learning Community

2008
A community is socially organized around relationships as a result of seeking a common ground that builds upon “community by kinship, of mind, of place, and of memory” (Sergiovanni, 1994, p. xvi). Participating in the activities of others and contributing to cooperative doings may reveal identity construction in the social process of forging a ...

Learning to communicate

Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 2001
Of the few animal groups that learn their vocalizations, songbirds are uniquely amenable to molecular, physiological, and behavioral analyses of the neural features responsible for vocal learning. In order to communicate effectively as an adult, a young songbird recognizes and memorizes a model of his species-specific song during a developmentally ...

Learning and Community

The Australian Educational Researcher, 2002
‘Learning’ recently entered the vocabulary of politicians and business leaders, as they began to articulate policy reforms related to the knowledge economy. The Australian Council of Deans of Education has also entered the debate for economic and educational reform by arguing for ‘New Learning’.
