Ordinal Consistent Partial Least Squares [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this chapter, we present a new variance-based estimator called ordinal consistent partial least squares (OrdPLSc). It is a promising combination of consistent partial least squares (PLSc) and ordinal partial least squares (OrdPLS), respectively, which

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Multi-class fault diagnosis of BF based on global optimization LS-SVM

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2017
Aiming at the requirement of high speed and precision in blast furnace fault diagnosis systems, a new strategy based on global optimization least-squares support vector machines (LS-SVM) was proposed to solve this problem.

Least Squares Moving-Window Spectral Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Spectroscopy, 2017
Least squares regression is proposed as a moving-windows method for analysis of a series of spectra acquired as a function of external perturbation. The least squares moving-window (LSMW) method can be considered an extended form of the Savitzky–Golay differentiation for nonuniform perturbation spacing.

On the computation of the structured total least squares estimator

open access: yes, 2004
A class of structured total least squares problems is considered, in which the extended data matrix is partitioned into blocks and each of the blocks is (block) Toeplitz/Hankel structured, unstructured, or noise free.

Orthogonal-least-squares regression: A unified approach for data modelling

open access: yes, 2008
A unified approach is proposed for data modelling that includes supervised regression and classification applications as well as unsupervised probability density function estimation. The orthogonal-least-squares regression based on the leave-one-out test

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Consistency of the structured total least squares estimator in a multivariate errors-in-variables model

open access: yes, 2005
The structured total least squares estimator, defined via a constrained optimization problem, is a generalization of the total least squares estimator when the data matrix and the applied correction satisfy given structural constraints.

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.
