A Backscattering Model Incorporating the Effective Carrier Temperature in Nano MOSFET
In this work we propose a channel backscattering model in which increased carrier temperature at the top of the potential energy barrier in the channel is taken into account.

Structural dynamics of the plant hormone receptor ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment
The present study unveils the structural and signaling dynamics of ETR1, a key plant ethylene receptor. Using an optimized nanodisc system and solution NMR, we captured full‐length ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment. Our findings reveal dynamic domain uncoupling and Cu(I)‐induced rigidification, providing the first evidence of metal‐triggered ...

A working model for cytoplasmic assembly of H/ACA snoRNPs
Dyskerin is the component of nuclear H/ACA ribonucleoproteins (RNPs) endowed with pseudouridine synthase catalytic activity. Two isoforms of human dyskerin have been characterized: the abundant Iso1, mainly nuclear, and the shorter Iso3, mainly cytoplasmic but occasionally imported into nuclei.

Coherent linking between confocal amplitude image and confocal phase image in dual-comb microscopy
We propose a method for integrating confocal amplitude and phase images obtained through dual-comb microscopy (DCM). DCM combines the benefits of confocal laser microscopy and quantitative phase microscopy, offering high axial resolution and scan-less ...

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is of huge importance, resulting in over 1 million deaths each year. Here, we describe how a new drug, enmetazobactam, designed to help fight resistant bacterial diseases, inhibits a key enzyme (GES‐1) responsible for AMR. Our data show it is a more potent inhibitor than the related tazobactam, with high‐level computation

Collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and USDC Depegging: A Machine Learning Experiment
The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) on 11 March 2023, and the subsequent depegging of the USDC stablecoin highlighted vulnerabilities in the interconnected financial ecosystem. While prior research has explored the systemic risks of stablecoins and

Mutations in the C9orf72 gene represent the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disease. Using patient‐derived neurons and C. elegans models, we find that the nucleoporin Nup107 is dysregulated in C9orf72‐associated ALS. Conversely, reducing Nup107 levels mitigates disease‐related changes.

Novel and unscrutinized immune entities of the zebrafish gut
Understudied cells of the zebrafish immune system include bona fide immune cells and epithelial (‐derived) cells with immune functions. Research focusing on zebrafish cells which demonstrate similarities to mammalian immune cell counterparts may help us understand the pathologies in which they are implicated. Currently available and advanced tools make
