ABSTRACT Breakthrough hemolysis (BTH) is defined as a hemolytic exacerbation in a patient with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) treated with complement inhibitors (CIs). In the current era of several terminal and proximal inhibitors, there are no guidelines for defining BTH and its severity, and clinical management is not standardized.

Health‐related quality of life following total minimally invasive, hybrid minimally invasive or open oesophagectomy: a population‐based cohort study

All patients operated for oesophageal cancer in Sweden from 2013 to April 2018 were identified, and 246 patients were recruited to this population‐based nationwide Swedish study. The results show that longitudinal health‐related quality of life after minimally invasive oesophagectomy was similar to that of the open surgical approach.

Porcelain Atrium: A Case Report with Literature Review

Massive left atrial wall calcification, or porcelain atrium, is very rare. We describe a case of an unusual pattern of cardiac calcification demonstrated on routine preoperative chest X-ray for cataract surgery in a 71-year-old Nigerian woman.
