Circumferential Left Atrium Resection for Treating a Giant Left Atrium
An enlarged left atrium (LA) is a major risk factor for atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after a maze operation.Between 2000 and 2009, 35 patients underwent circumferential left atrium resection (CLAR), during mitral valve surgery. All patients had continuous AF.Hospital mortalities occurred in two patients (5.7%). Postoperative bleeding occurred in

This study reveals a novel mechanistic connection between cancer and ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)‐induced cardiac injury. The meta‐analysis demonstrates significantly higher incidence ratios of both all‐cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality in cancer patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) compared to non‐cancer patients.

Irisin is a crucial plasma biomarker and promising therapeutic target that reflects disease severity, pulmonary vascular remodeling status and clinical outcome in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). As a novel protective factor, irisin is downregulated in PAH. By ubiquitination, irisin promotes Enolase 1 degradation and suppresses cell

Intracardiac mass: A rare case report
Intracardiac thrombus is seen in many circumstances. Rarely it is found in left atrium in the absence of mitral stenosis. Here we are reporting a case of Cardiomyopathy with thrombus in left ventricle and left atrium.

Engineered Probiotic‐Powered Micro‐Rod Robot Bomb for Thrombus‐Penetrating Explosion
For thrombotic diseases with narrow therapeutic windows and persistent vascular damage; existing thrombolytic drugs are difficult to achieve precise; timely; and sustained thrombolytic effects. Here an engineered probiotic driven micro‐rod robot for targeted and penetrative treatment for thrombus is developed.
