Vaginal leiomyoma

open access: yesJournal of Mid-life Health, 2011
Leiomyomas are common benign tumors in the uterus. However, vaginal leiomyomas remain an uncommon entity with only about 300 reported cases. Here, we report a case of a 38-year-old multigravida who presented with lower abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. A physical examination and ultrasonography were performed, and a diagnosis of cervical fibroid was

Application of Serum CA125, HE4, ROMA, and CPH‐I in the Preoperative Differentiation of Ovarian Tumors: A Diagnostic Accuracy Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the diagnostic performance of CA125, HE4, ROMA, and CPH‐I in 345 patients with histologically confirmed ovarian tumors. CPH‐I showed favorable diagnostic performance overall and was particularly valuable in premenopausal women, whereas ROMA‐based strategies demonstrated optimal performance in postmenopausal women.

Ultrasound Characteristics of Twisted Pedunculated Subserosal Uterine Leiomyomas: A Case Report and a Systematic Review of the Literature

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Ultrasound may aid in the preoperative diagnosis of torsed pedunculated subserosal uterine leiomyomas (TPSUL), a rare but urgent condition. This study identifies consistent sonographic features across 42 cases, supporting ultrasound as a valuable diagnostic tool and highlighting the need for standardization in TPSUL imaging.

Concordance of Preoperative Transvaginal Ultrasound and Intraoperative Findings in Fibroid Ablation Using Transcervical Ultrasound

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate concordance between the number of uterine fibroids deemed clinically significant on preoperative transvaginal sonography (TVS) and the number of fibroids treated intraoperatively during transcervical radiofrequency ablation (RFA) under intrauterine ultrasound guidance.

Primary ovarian leiomyoma

open access: yesGynecology and Minimally Invasive Therapy, 2020
Primary ovarian leiomyoma is an extremely rare form of extrauterine leiomyomas. The incidence of primary ovarian leiomyoma is 0.5%–1% of all benign ovarian smooth muscle tumors. We present a case of primary ovarian leiomyoma managed laparoscopically with

From ACR O‐RADS 2022 to Explainable Deep Learning

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives The 2022 update of the Ovarian‐Adnexal Reporting and Data System (O‐RADS) improves risk stratification of adnexal lesions; however, radiologist interpretation remains subject to inter‐observer variability and conservative diagnostic thresholds.

Phthalate Metabolite, Mono(2‐Ethyl‐5‐Hydroxyhexyl) Phthalate (MEHHP), Promotes Uterine‐Fibroid–Associated Phenotypes in Myometrial Stem Cell‐Derived 3D Organoids

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how phthalate exposure contributes to uterine fibroid (UF) development by studying the effects of the Mono‐(2‐ethyl‐5‐hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP), a metabolite of Di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate, on myometrial stem cells (MMSCs).
