150 Years: The Leipzig Meteorological Conference, 1872, a Milestone in International Meteorological Cooperation

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2022
One hundred and fifty years ago, a meteorological conference was held in Leipzig as part of the anniversary meeting of the Society of German Natural Scientists and Physicians (Gesellschaft Deutscher Naturforscher und Ärzte), founded in Leipzig in 1822 ...

Gravitational effects on a rigid Casimir cavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Vacuum fluctuations produce a force acting on a rigid Casimir cavity in a weak gravitational field. Such a force is here evaluated and is found to have opposite direction with respect to the gravitational acceleration; the order of magnitude for a multi ...

The upper mesosphere and lower thermosphere wind field over Central Europe from 1994 through 1996 obtained from a joint analysis of LF windprofiler and MF radar measurements

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 1997
The mesopause region wind field over Central Europe has been continually recorded by daily low-frequency total reflection wind measurements using commercial radio transmitters at the Collm Observatory of the University of Leipzig, and by medium-frequency

Die Baumkronenspinnen (Araneae) des Leipziger Auwaldes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The canopy spiders of the floodplain forest in Leipzig have become a focus of ecological studies in recent years. In 2006 we sampled 30 tree canopies in the ‘Burgaue’ nature reserve with pyrethrum knock-down fogging, recording 502 adult spiders belonging

Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Toward a Nonlocal Theory of Gravitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The nonlocal theory of accelerated systems is extended to linear gravitational waves as measured by accelerated observers in Minkowski spacetime. The implications of this approach are discussed.

Common Signatures of Altered Gene Regulation and Invasiveness of Different Breast Cancer Cell Lines after Matrix Interface Crossing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Interface transmigration reprograms triple‐negative breast cancer cells, triggering a shared switch toward more aggressive and invasive phenotypes. Using a collagen I interface model, this study identifies shared transcriptional changes involving proliferation, chromatin remodeling, and DNA repair pathways.

COVID-19 pandemic and urban green spaces: Shifting usage behaviours and perceptions in Leipzig (Germany)?

open access: yesMoravian Geographical Reports
Crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic challenge some established human-landscape interactions notably. In this article, we analyse whether the pandemic had an impact on the perception of urban green spaces (UGS) and usage behaviours in Leipzig, Germany ...
