Cololejeunea cardiocarpa, an epiphyllous liverwort in southern Africa (Lejeuneaceae)

On Myriocoleopsis Schiffn. (Lejeuneaceae)

A new locality of the rare Brazilian liverwort Myriocoleopsis puiggarii (Lejeuneaceae) the only species in the genus, was discovered in the river Pardo near Barra do Turvo, Sao Paulo State. Data on stem-anatomy, oil-bodies, sporophyte and ecology are provided here for the first time.

Phylogenetic analyses of a three marker dataset of Lejeuneaceae (chloroplast genome rbcL gene and trnL-F region, and nuclear ribosomal ITS1-5.8S-ITS-2 region) show the presence of the monospecific genus Sphaerolejeunea in a robust subclade of Lejeunea.
