Geometrical Model of Lemon Fruit [PDF]

open access: yesAgricultural Engineering, 2017
Abstract A proposal of a mathematical method of modelling of the lemon shape with Bézier's curves was presented. Lisbon, Verna, Genoa lemon cultivars were selected for verification of the modelling method. The lemon contour, which is its meridian, was described with three smoothly combined Bézier's curves.

The Silkworm Mutant lemon (lemon lethal) Is a Potential Insect Model for Human Sepiapterin Reductase Deficiency [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2009
Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) is an essential cofactor for aromatic acid hydroxylases, which control the levels of monoamine neurotransmitters. BH4 deficiency has been associated with many neuropsychological disorders. An inherited defect in BH4 biosynthesis is caused by the deficiency of sepiapterin reductase (SPR), which catalyzes the biosynthesis of BH4

Modelling osmotic dehydration of lemon slices using new sweeteners [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food Science & Technology, 2015
SummaryLemon slices were osmotically dehydrated using the following healthy sweeteners as osmotic agents: tagatose, isomaltulose, oligofructose and aqueous extract of stevia. A kinetic study using a Fickian approach was performed, which also analysed the changes in water activity, total mass, mass of water and mass of soluble solids in lemon slices ...
