Length-weight relationships of coral reef fishes from the Alacran Reef, Yucatan, Mexico [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Length-weight relationships were computed for 42 species of coral reef fishes from 14 families from the Alacran Reef (Yucatan, Mexico). A total of 1 892 individuals was used for this purpose.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Impact of gonad weight on the length-weight relationships of river catfish (Clupisoma garua) in Bangladesh

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Aquatic Research, 2019
This study was intended to assess the effect of gonadal weight on the length-weight relationships for year-round samples of river catfish (Clupisoma garua) collected from Old Brahmaputra River, Bangladesh. The standard length (SL) and body weight (BW) of

Age and growth of Mugil cephalus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Perciformes: Mugilidae) in Bonny Estuary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The age and growth of Mugil cephalus was investigated in Bonny Estuary, Nigeria, from January, 1995 to December, 1996. Length-weight relationships were isometric with length exponents of 2.84 (males), 2.90 (females) and 2.88 (overall).

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Length weight relationships of Nigerian freshwater fishes [PDF]

open access: yesNaga, 1996
Length-weight relationships of 73 fish populations, covering 20 families, 28 genera and 40 species inhabiting freshwater ecosystems in Nigeria, were estimated (73 cases) or assembled from the literature (20 cases), and tested for difference between ecosystem types, There were no significant differences in the exponent of these relationships between ...

Length-weight relationships of marine fishes from the central Brazilian coast [PDF]

open access: yes
Parameters of the length-weight relationship are presented for 85 fish species from the marine and estuarine regions of the central Brazilian coast (latitude 13° to 23° S). Three different methods were used. A non-linear iterative process using the quasi-
