Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

Spontaneous Lens Absorption Initially Misdiagnosed as Crystalline Lens Luxation

open access: yesTürk Oftalmoloji Dergisi, 2018
Spontaneous lens absorption (SLA) is a rare complication of hypermature cataract. However, this condition has been reported in several cases of hypermature cataracts that were caused by trauma, senility, uveitic disorders such as Fuchs’ uveitis syndrome (

Iatrogenic Lens Injuries

open access: yesTürk Oftalmoloji Dergisi, 2012
During intraocular surgery, undesired damages of various etiology may occur in adjacent tissues. One of these tissues is the crystalline lens, which may be traumatized both in anterior segment and posterior segment surgeries, and when damaged, it ...

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Polarization‐Dependent Synaptic‐Like Electro‐Optical Response in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) offer fast, tunable polarization and low‐voltage operation but suffer from poor polarization retention at zero field. Semiconductor‐modified FNLCs enhance polarization retention and exhibit short‐ and long‐term electro‐optical responses, while also supporting spike‐type signal integrations.

Inadvertent steroid injection into the crystalline lens

open access: yesGMS Ophthalmology Cases, 2017
Intravitreal triamcinolone is administered for a wide number of vitreoretinal conditions. Several complications including cataract formation, raised intraocular pressure, and endophthalmitis have been reported following intravitreal injections. We report

Nanoscale Spatial Tuning of Superconductivity in Cuprate Thin Films via Direct Laser Writing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Maskless direct laser writing enables local control of oxygen stoichiometry in epitaxial YBCO thin films under ambient conditions. Sub‐micrometer grayscale patterns with tunable optical response and superconducting transport properties are achieved.

A rare case of traumatic posterior phacocele with retinal detachment

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
Dislocation of crystalline lens into the anterior subconjunctival or subtenon′s space is a rare but known complication of blunt trauma. Dislocation into the posterior subtenon′s space is even rarer and can be associated with a complication such as occult

Si‐Doped Nanocrystalline Diamond as Highly Sensitive Luminescence Thermometer for the Physiological Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

High‐Performance n‐Type Organic Thermoelectrics Enabled by Control Over Microstructure, Orientation and Contact Plane in Naphthalenediimide‐Bithiazole‐Copolymer Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Effective control over the crystalline contact plane and microstructure of a naphthalenediimide‐bithiazole copolymer enables high‐performance n‐type thermoelectrics. While rubbing alignment induces a detrimental edge‐on orientation, subsequent solvent vapor‐induced re‐orientation facilitates a favorable mixed face‐on/edge‐on morphology.
