Construction of an intraspecific linkage map of lentil (Lens culinaris ssp. culinaris)
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2003The first intraspecific linkage map of the lentil genome was constructed with 114 molecular markers (100 RAPD, 11 ISSR and three RGA) using an F(2) population developed from a cross between lentil cultivars ILL5588 and ILL7537 which differed in resistance for ascochyta blight.

This chapter describes an efficient Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of lentil by use of cotyledonary node explants, an optimized wounding method, and vacuum infiltration. Transformation protocol was followed by direct regeneration of transgenic shoots and micrografting of the shoots on root stocks to obtain whole-plant regeneration.

Abstract Anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum truncatum , is a major disease of lentil ( Lens culinaris Medik.). Resistance to the more virulent race Ct0 of the pathogen is extremely rare within the cultivated L. culinaris gene pool and is limited to partial resistance. The secondary gene pool of L.
