Starvation duration alters predatory behaviour of Eriopis connexa, affecting aphid consumption and survival dynamics. Increased starvation enhances attack rate, accelerating prey depletion without substantially affecting handling time. Using a Generic Blend of Pheromones to Simultaneously Attract a Diversity of Elaterid Beetle Species Native to Eastern North America

We assessed attraction of eight elaterid species to a “generic” pheromone blend containing their eight known pheromones or sex attractants. All eight species were attracted by their specific attractants, as expected. Six species were attracted to the blend, but the remaining two species were strongly inhibited by unknown blend components.
