Clinical and MRI findings of suspected cerebrospinal nematodiasis in an alpaca

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, November 2026.
Abstract A 5‐year‐old alpaca was presented with a 2‐week history of progressive pelvic limb ataxia and paresis. Neurological examination localised the lesion to the thoracolumbar spinal cord. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the cervical and thoracolumbar spine revealed no abnormalities; however, contrast‐enhanced sequences were not performed due to

Convergence of Cerebrospinal Fluid Neuronal Biomarker Burden and MRI Lesion Pattern and Its Association With Short‐Term Outcome in Neuroinfectious Diseases

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 11, November 2026.
In 123 patients with neuroinfectious diseases, temporal lobe involvement on MRI was associated with higher CSF neuronal biomarkers. Both temporal lobe involvement and global CSF neuronal biomarker burden were independently associated with outcome at discharge. MRI and CSF biomarkers thus provide complementary aspects of disease severity.

Evolving role of proton therapy in contemporary oncology

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue 20, 15 October 2026.
Abstract Proton therapy offers a distinct physical advantage over photon radiotherapy through the Bragg peak dose concentration in target with both lower integral dose and finite path length, and sharper penumbra as compared to photons, collectively reducing radiation exposure to surrounding normal tissues and potentially improving the therapeutic ...

Histopathologic and morphometric studies of leptomeningeal vessels in moyamoya disease.

open access: yes, 1990
To clarify the morphogenesis of vascular anastomoses in the leptomeninx, we examined the leptomeningeal vessels of six autopsied patients with moyamoya disease who died of cerebral hemorrhage. Sites examined in the brain (the frontal pole, frontoparietal
