The relationship between faecal egg count reduction and the lethal dose 50% in the egg hatch assay and larval development assay

Veterinary Parasitology, 1998
The relationship between resistance detected in the faecal egg count reduction test (FECRT) and the lethal dose 50% (LD50) in the egg hatch assay (EHA) for benzimidazoles (BZs) and a larval development assay (LDA) for BZs, levamisole (LEV) and ivermectin (IVM) was examined on 13 sheep farms and 12 goat farms in Denmark. Out of 10 farms where resistance

The causative agent of bradzot's disease is CL. results of laboratory determination of 50% and 100% lethal doses (LD50 and LD100) of oedematiens strain

ACADEMICIA: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal, 2021
AbstractThe article describes the results of detection of 50% (ID50) and 100% (ID100) lethal doses of the pathogen in guinea pigs infected with one-day Cl.Oedematiens culture grown in Kitt-Tarottsi nutrient medium from pathological samples from sheep infected with bradzot.

Rapid and accurate determination of the median lethal dose (LD 50 ) and its error with a small computer

Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1977
A program for a small digital computer was developed to calculate the median lethal dose (LD50) and its errors. The algorithm employed in the program was based on a method described by Bliss. Modifications introduced by Finney are also discussed. The results indicate a high degree of accuracy compared with calculations performed by Bliss.

The Number of Elementary Bodies Per 50% Lethal Dose of Meningo-Pneumonitis Virus as Determined by Electron Microscopic Counting,

The Journal of Immunology, 1954
Summary Counting of elementary bodies of meningo-pneumonitis virus in dialysed allantoic fluid by electron microscopy is described. Dialysis against distilled water for 18 to 24 hours at 5°C did not alter the lethal potency of the fluid for chick embryos inoculated via the yolk sac.

Estimation of acute oral toxicity in rates by determination of the approximate lethal dose rather than the LD50

Journal of Applied Toxicology, 1986
AbstractThe approximiate lethal dose (ALD) to rats following oral administration of nine chemicals was determined. The ALD (lowest dose at which death was produced) for each chemical was used to define the general order of toxicity as being either extremely, highly, moderately, slightly, or practically non‐toxic.

[Are acute toxicity testing and the three Rs rule reconcilable? Example of the lethal dose 50 determination].

Annales pharmaceutiques francaises, 2004
Toxicity assessment and demonstration of innocuousness of chemical compounds have been part of the research studies conducted in the fields of pharmacy, agriculture and chemical industry for years. Acute systemic toxicity studies are an important element of the safety evaluation.

Immunomodulatory effects of cold stress on mice infected intraperitoneally with a 50% lethal dose of Toxoplasma gondii.

Neuroimmunomodulation, 2001
Cofactors such as stress have been suspected to play a role in the susceptibility to opportunistic infections. Toxoplasma gondii is one of the major opportunistic infectious agents in immunocompromised individuals, and infection can be modulated by external factors such as stress. The purpose of this study was to examine the in vivo and in vitro role of

STUDIES ON MUTAGENESIS IN GARLIC USING GAMMA RAYS TO DETERMINE LETHAL DOSE (LD 50) AND INDUCING MUTATION

Plant Archives
The experiment aimed to assess the effects of varying gamma radiation doses on seedling characteristics and determine the optimal radiation doses for garlic. Uniform size bulbs of one popular garlic variety namely Balagarh local harvested during rabi 2022 irradiated with gamma rays at 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20, 25Gy at the gamma chamber (GC-5000) of the ...
