Exogenous IAA application alleviated altered physiological and biochemical processes through promoting H‐ATPase and Fe chelate reductase activities in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) subjected to iron deficiency

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Exogenous IAA supply enhances the strategy I response in common bean under iron deficiency. Abstract Iron deficiency is a common nutritional disorder observed in calcareous soils, where its resolution by classical methods has shown its failure. However, the exploitation of certain potentialities possessed by crops (rhizosphere acidification, H‐ATPase ...

Life‐Stage–Specific Hematological Profiles in Yellow Mealworm Beetles (Tenebrio molitor): Reference Intervals and Hemocyte Characterization

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The edible insect industry, driven by the nutritional and environmental benefits of mealworms, faces increasing challenges from pathogens affecting Tenebrio molitor farming systems. Hemocyte‐based health assessments could provide valuable diagnostic insights, yet standardized hemolymph processing protocols and hematological ...

Bioremediation of Olive Mill Wastewater Using Free and Immobilized Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Efficiency and Phytotoxicity Assessment

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract compares the bioremediation performance of olive mill wastewater using P. aeruginosa immobilized in agar beads and fixed on activated carbon. Both systems effectively reduced chemical oxygen demand (COD), phenols, colour, phosphorus and lipids.

Impact of Crude Oil Contamination on Green Leafy Vegetables: Nutritional and Health Risk Assessments

open access: yesRemediation Journal, Volume 36, Issue 2, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT For decades, crude oil spills have been a serious environmental challenge which have led to the establishment of crude oil remediation intervention values (CRIV) by different national agencies to regulate the release of toxic petroleum hydrocarbons via these spills.

Current Knowledge on Phytoremediation Potential of Industrial Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) for PFAS and Heavy Metal Contaminated Soils

open access: yesRemediation Journal, Volume 36, Issue 2, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT This review synthesizes current research on the phytoremediation potential of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) for heavy metals, including arsenic, aluminium, mercury, copper, lead, cadmium, nickel, and zinc, as well as per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly referred to as “forever chemicals.” A structured and transparent ...
