Transgenic lettuce for lettuce mosaic potyvirus resistance

open access: yes, 1999
Lettuce mosaic potyvirus (LMV) has been a destructive virus on lettuce crops and the emergence of new strains requires to find out new resistance genes. The coat protein mediated protection approach was shown previously to confer some protection to LMV. Additional transformed lettuce lines were analysed for resistance against LMV-0.

Strigolactone‐mediated architecture regulation and stress resilience: Insights and innovations for crop breeding

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the discovery, biosynthesis, and transport of strigolactone, and the D14‐D3/MAX2‐D53/SMXLs signaling module. It highlights diverse roles of strigolactone in plant architecture, stress responses, and crop breeding, including species‐specific functions, hormonal crosstalk, and agricultural applications.

Embedded Pesticide Use: Exploring the Pesticide‐Land Nexus

open access: yesJournal of Agrarian Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Since the turn of the century, global land grabs, farmland financialization and land‐based food sovereignty movements have returned the land question to the heart of agrarian studies. Meanwhile, abiding interest in pesticides has been reanimated in the face of changes in production, regulation and knowledge of toxicity.

Dynamic Model as Attainment Effort of Nitrogen Synchronization at Lettuce Cultivation with Green Manure Paitan

open access: yesJournal of Tropical Soils, 2009
Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is vegetable crop that consumed part of the leaf and harvested at a phase of vegetative. Nitrogen play important role in growth at phase of vegetative. Nitrogen in spacious have the character of easy to lose because of leaching.

Vocabulary Opens the Door; Creativity Guides the Search: Complementary Contributions to Second Language Semantic Fluency Across Domains

open access: yesLanguage Learning, EarlyView.
Abstract Semantic fluency, the ability to retrieve words within a category, relies on lexical knowledge, semantic memory and executive control mechanisms. A richer, interconnected semantic memory and optimal executive control, as seen in creative individuals, enhance fluency through broad associative searches and quicker access to remote concepts ...

Climate change and crop resilience: harnessing metabolomics for predicting stress tolerance

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summarised methodology for metabolite biomarker discovery and genomic targets selection for those metabolites to predict high‐throughput phenotypic and agronomic traits of interest for direct uptake in breeding programmes. Summary Global warming is driving climate change to levels not experienced since the advent of agriculture, primarily due to ...

A Modified Cas9 Scaffold Allows Extension of the Virus‐Induced Gene Editing Technology to the Large Potyvirus Genus

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant viruses are recognized as rapid and effective vectors to deliver CRISPR‐Cas reaction components into plants, a strategy termed virus‐induced gene editing (VIGE). However, VIGE is limited by the host range of the viral vectors. Development of new viral vectors to target a broad range of plant species will potentially enable the delivery ...
