Induction of the bioconversion of leucomycins by glucose and its regulation by butyrate. [PDF]

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1979
Leucomycin A1 (LM A1) was converted to leucomycin A3 (LM A3) by Streptomyces kitasatoensis is glucose-containing medium. On the other hand, butyrate, one of the precursors of the aglycone, repressed the bioconversion of LM A1 to A3. The role of butyrate has been examined in connection with that of glucose. It was found that the production of the enzyme

STRUCTURE-BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES RELATIONSHIPS AMONG LEUCOMYCINS AND THEIR DERIVATIVES

open access: yesThe Journal of Antibiotics, 1968
The relationship between chemical structure and biological activity of leucomycins and their derivatives was examined in vivo and in vitro. The biological activity of Fr-group was higher than that of Ac-group in vitro, but the latter showed higher blood level and lower toxicity than Fr-group.

ChemInform Abstract: CHEMISTRY OF LEUCOMYCINS. XII. APPLICATION OF THE MODIFIED POLONOVSKI REACTION TO LEUCOMYCIN A3 N-OXIDE

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1976
An aglycone moiety of leucomycin-A3 (1), leuconolide-A3-5, 18-hemiacetal (3), was isolated by the application of a modified Polonovski-reaction to leucomycin-A3 N-oxide (2). Two neutral macrolides, 2'-O-acetyl-3'-N-desdimethylamino-3'-oxo-leucomycin-A3 (5) and 2'-O-acetyl-3'-N-desmethyl-N-acetyl leucomycin-A3 (8) in which the mycaminose moiety of 1 was
