Although Epstein-Barr virus-associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a highly radiosensitive cancer, approximately 20% of patients with NPC develop local recurrence after radiation therapy. Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization
