Cryopreservation of Bovine Mononuclear Leukocytes

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1979
SUMMARY A technique of cryopreservation of bovine mononuclear leukocytes for use in lymphocyte stimulation tests and cell identification studies has been developed. Dimethyl sulfoxide was used as the cryopreservation agent. Cells were frozen to —40 C at a controlled rate of —1 C/minute and then to —80 C at a rate of —4 C/minute, and were subsequently ...

The significance of atypical mononuclear leukocytes

The Journal of Pediatrics, 1962
Summary Atypical mononuclear leukocytes in routine peripheral blood smears from 20 children have been studied and the clinical features of the cases reviewed. There seems reason to believe that these atypical cells are lymphocytes in the process of maturing to histiocytes or monocytes.

Platelet aggregation inhibition by mononuclear leukocytes

Thrombosis Research, 1994
In this study we have investigated the effect of human mononuclear leukocytes (ML) on platelet aggregation. The results obtained demonstrated that coincubation of platelets with nonstimulated ML decreased platelet aggregation induced by collagen or thrombin in a concentration-dependent manner.

Effects of antigens on mononuclear leukocyte chemiluminescence

Immunological Investigations, 1985
Influenza virus and Candida albicans allergenic extract elicit alterations in the oxidative metabolic activity of human mononuclear leukocytes (MNL). MNL preparations (greater than 96% lymphocytes, less than 4% monocytes) exposed in vitro to inactivated influenza virus displayed significantly enhanced oxidative activity, as demonstrated by luminol ...
