Evolution of Si Crystallographic Planes-Etching of Square and Circle Patterns in 25 wt % TMAH

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
Squares and circles are basic patterns for most mask designs of silicon microdevices. Evolution of etched Si crystallographic planes defined by square and circle patterns in the masking layer is presented and analyzed in this paper.

Review on some Stefan Problems for Particle Dissolution in Solid Metallic Alloys

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2005
This paper is a review of a suite of mathematical models of increasing complexity on particle dissolution in metallic alloys. This work deals with models for multi-component particle dissolution in multi-component alloys, where various chemical species ...

High-order finite-difference ghost-point methods for elliptic problems in domains with curved boundaries

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
In this article, a fourth-order finite-difference ghost-point method for the Poisson equation on regular Cartesian mesh is presented. The method can be considered the high-order extension of the second-order ghost method introduced earlier by the authors.

Level set method for solving Poisson's equation with discontinuous nonlinearities

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
We study semi-linear elliptic free boundary problems in which the forcing term is discontinuous; i.e., a Poisson's equation where the forcing term is the Heaviside function applied to the unknown minus a constant.

An improved direct forcing immersed boundary method for floating body simulations in waves

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
This paper introduces a novel direct forcing immersed boundary method tailored to simulate nonlinear interactions between ocean waves and arbitrarily complex free-floating structures.

Simulation of pore-scale microscopic spontaneous imbibition of shale based on level-set method

open access: yesYouqi dizhi yu caishoulu
The core pore structure of the target shale oil block was finely characterized using scanning electron microscopy, and a microscopic numerical model of the pore-scale core was constructed to elucidate the intrinsic mechanisms and the main controlling ...
