Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Active optical clock based on four-level quantum system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Active optical clock, a new conception of atomic clock, has been proposed recently. In this report, we propose a scheme of active optical clock based on four-level quantum system.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Renal cell carcinoma with an “uncoiling” tumor thrombus: intraoperative shift from level III to level IV

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology
Background The gold standard treatment for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with tumor thrombus (TT) is complete surgical excision. The surgery is complex and challenging to the surgeon, especially with large tumor thrombus extending into the inferior vena ...

Integrated fuzzy and phase shift controller for output step voltage control in multilevel inverter with reduced switch count

open access: yesAutomatika, 2020
A modified multilevel inverter with a configurable level generation is proposed in this paper. The MLI is composed of a modified boost converter at the front end followed by a level generation circuit and a H-bridge configuration. The front-end converter

The origin of the core-level binding energy shifts in nanoclusters

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the shifts of the core-level binding energies in small gold nanoclusters by using {\it ab initio} density functional theory calculations. The shift of the 4$f$ states is calculated for magic number nanoclusters in a wide range of sizes and

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Analyses of pion-nucleon elastic scattering amplitudes up to $O(p^4)$ in extended-on-mass-shell subtraction scheme

open access: yes, 2013
We extend the analysis of elastic pion-nucleon scattering up to $O(p^4)$ level using extended-on-mass-shell subtraction scheme within the framework of covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory.

Polarization phase gate with a tripod atomic system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We analyze the nonlinear optical response of a four-level atomic system driven into a tripod configuration. The large cross-Kerr nonlinearities that occurr in such a system are shown to produce nonlinear phase shift of order $\pi$.
