Level of education, level of income, and level of fatness in adults

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1977
Socioeconomic status is systematically related to the level of fatness, and therefore the incidence of obesity, in a total community survey of nearly 5,000 adults. Among males with more than 12 years of schooling, the average thickness of 4 fatfolds is 10% greater, amounting to about 2 kg of total fat, than those with 8 years or less of education.

On Trading Wear-leveling with Heal-leveling

Proceedings of the 51st Annual Design Automation Conference, 2014
Manufacturers are constantly seeking to increase flash memory density in order to fulfill the ever growing demand for storage capacity. However, this trend significantly reduces the reliability and endurance of flash memory chips. The lifetime degradation worsens as the number of erase cycles grows, even with wear leveling technology being adopted to ...

Level Selection for a Level Crossing Receiver

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1973
In this paper a technique for setting the level in a levelcrossing detector is discussed. Experimental verification of this method is given along with measurements of receiver performance.

On the level

ACM SIGGRAPH ASIA 2009 Computer Animation Festival, 2009
All Bean Maxwell wants is for the picture on his foyer wall to hang level. With a scrutinizing eye, and an array of tools, he tirelessly pursues this exercise in perfection. But will his dedication to the little details cause him to lose sight of the bigger picture?

Failures of SCH and Level by Level Equivalence

Archive for Mathematical Logic, 2006
A model of ZFC is said to satisfy level by level equivalence if for all regular cardinals \(\kappa < \lambda\), \(\kappa\) is \(\lambda\)-strongly compact if and only if it is \(\lambda\)-supercompact, except possibly if \(\kappa\) is a measurable limit of cardinals which are \(\lambda\)-supercompact. The following result is established.

Levels and level bubbles

Transactions of the Optical Society, 1923
Section I of the paper gives the results of measurement of density, surface tension and viscosity of several liquids for use in levels; the liquids are benzol, xylol, chloroform, alcohol and ether. Section II deals with the corresponding measurements on petroleum ethers distilled at various ranges of temperature, the ether distilled at 40°-50° C. being
