On the Lexical Meaning of Conditional Connectives in Chinese
2014This paper examines some common logical notions, their explicit encoding in English and in Chinese, their representations in logic, and their semantic characterizations. Detailed treatments are given to the analysis of the necessary condition and the counterfactual protasis-inducer ‘yaobushi’ (if-not-be) in Chinese.

Negotiating about lexical meanings
2009One central issue in the generative lexicon approach is how to account for the context dependence of certain aspects of the meanings of lexical items. Pustejovsky (1995, 2005), Ginzburg (to appear) and Ginzburg and Cooper (2004) exemplify how the interpretation of lexical items is influenced by the context of use.
