Evaluation of gonadotropin responses and response times according to two different cut-off values in luteinizing hormone releasing hormone stimulation test in girls

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2020
Background: In this study, we aimed to evaluate FSH, LH responses obtained during LHRH-ST according to two different cut-off values, to determine the diagnostic response times, and to find the optimal blood collection times that could reduce the economic

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

LHFTL: A novel SSD performance optimisation approach using the LH index [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2021
Flash Translation Layer (FTL) based Solid State Drives SSDs have a crucial role for flash storage devices for many reasons (i.e., lower energy consumption, better performance and less heating).

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

IL-1 Receptor Antagonist Anakinra Inhibits the Effect of IL-1β- Mediated Osteoclast Formation by Periodontal Ligament Fibroblasts

open access: yesBiology
Rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis are comorbidities that share mutual pathways. IL-1β is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in both diseases.

Profile of gonadotropic hormone secretion in sheep with disturbed rhythm of seasonality

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2017
The effect of artificial conditions of a short daylight period (16 h darkness (D): 8 h light (L)) and exogenous melatonin on milk yield parameters of sheep during spring and summer was examined to determine the impact of using sheep for milk on the ...

Static polarizability of two-dimensional hole gases

open access: yes, 2010
We have calculated the density-density (Lindhard) response function of a homogeneous two-dimensional (2D) hole gas in the static (omega=0) limit. The bulk valence-band structure comprising heavy-hole (HH) and light-hole (LH) states is modeled using ...

Little Higgs model effects in $\gamma \gamma \to \gamma \gamma$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Though the predictions of the Standard Model (SM) are in excellent agreement with experiments there are still several theoretical problems associated with the Higgs sector of the SM, where it is widely believed that some ``{\it new physics}'' will take ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
