Relationship between Serum Sodium Levels and Length of Hospital Stay in Patients with Pulmonary Hypertension associated with Left Heart Disease [PDF]

open access: yesZhongguo quanke yixue
Background Pulmonary hypertension (PH) associated with left heart disease (PH-LHD) is the most common form of PH. Studies have shown that serum sodium is associated with the severity and poor prognosis of group 1 PH, but the effect of serum sodium on PH ...

The effects of sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors on the ‘forgotten’ right ventricle

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1045-1058, April 2025.
Abstract With the progress in diagnosis, treatment and imaging techniques, there is a growing recognition that impaired right ventricular (RV) function profoundly affects the prognosis of patients with heart failure (HF), irrespective of their left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).

Associations Between Local Health Department Expenditures on Foundational Capabilities and PHAB Accreditation Standards Scores

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2022
ContextFoundational Capabilities (FC) are the public health (PH) infrastructure areas that are essential for local health departments (LHDs) to support a “minimum package” of programs and services that promote population health.

Learning in radiation oncology: 12‐month experience with a new incident learning system

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, Volume 72, Issue 1, Page 63-73, March 2025.
Introduction of an incident learning incident (ILS) was shown to have had a positive impact on reporting and safety culture within a local health district (LHD). Survey findings correlate with existing literature that ILSs are effective tools for improving patient safety and departmental safety facilitating quality improvement.

Clinical phenotypes and outcomes of pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease: Role of the pre-capillary component.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
BackgroundIn pulmonary hypertension (PH), both wedge pressure elevation (PAWP) and a precapillary component may affect right ventricular (RV) afterload. These changes may contribute to RV failure and prognosis.

Mechanistic Insights into Oxygen Release from Layered Oxide Cathodes for Reliable Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Oxygen release behavior of Na2/3Ni1/3Mn2/3O2 is investigated, and mechanistic insight into oxygen release from cathode materials are discussed by integrating experimental investigations with theoretical calculations. Comparison of lattice oxygen stability of Na2/3Ni1/3Mn2/3O2 and that of Li‐ion battery cathodes are summarized.

Pathophysiology and Diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertension Due to Left Heart Disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2018
Pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease (PH-LHD) is the most common type of pulmonary hypertension, although an accurate prevalence is challenging.

Mechanical stretching of pulmonary vein stimulates matrix metalloproteinase-9 and transforming growth factor-β1 through stretch-activated channel/MAPK pathways in pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease model rats.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease (PH-LHD) is a momentous pulmonary hypertension disease, and left heart disease is the most familiar cause. Mechanical stretching may be a crucial cause of vascular remodeling.

An updated meta‐analysis of hemodynamics markers of prognosis in patients with pulmonary hypertension due to left heart disease

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, 2022
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is associated with a poor prognosis in left heart disease (LHD). We sought to provide an updated analysis on the association of hemodynamic variables, such as pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), pulmonary artery compliance ...

The Issue of Pre‐Islamic Arabic Christian Poetry Revisited

open access: yesArabian Archaeology and Epigraphy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Is only very little Arabic Christian poetry extant from pre‐Islamic times? While distancing myself from Louis Cheikho's (1859–1927) view that almost all pre‐Islamic poets were Christians, I contend in this article that some of them indeed were.
