Strong phylogenetic congruence between Tulasnella fungi and their associated Drakaeinae orchids. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Evol Biol, 2023
Representatives of five genera of Drakaeinae orchids, from top left to bottom right: Arthrochilus latipes, Chiloglottis trilabra, Caleana major, Paracaleana minor, Drakaea livida. Abstract The study of congruency between phylogenies of interacting species can provide a powerful approach for understanding the evolutionary history of symbiotic ...

Cross-species transmission of deltacoronavirus and the origin of porcine deltacoronavirus. [PDF]

open access: yesEvol Appl, 2020
Abstract Deltacoronavirus is the last identified Coronaviridae subfamily genus. Differing from other coronavirus (CoV) genera, which mainly infect birds or mammals, deltacoronaviruses (δ‐CoVs) reportedly infect both animal types. Recent studies show that a novel δ‐CoV, porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), can also infect calves and chickens with the ...

Patterns of host-parasite associations in tropical lice and their passerine hosts in Cameroon. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol, 2020
Associations of lice and their avian hosts in the tropical rainforests of Cameroon are predominantly shaped by host switching. Despite the general incongruence between parasite and host phylogenies, the significant correlation between host and parasite phylogenetic distances suggests the prevalence of host switching to closely related hosts.

Tree shape-based approaches for the comparative study of cophylogeny. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol, 2019
Cophylogeny is the congruence of phylogenetic relationships between two different groups of organisms due to their long‐term interaction. We investigated the use of tree shape distance measures to quantify the degree of cophylogeny. Abstract Cophylogeny is the congruence of phylogenetic relationships between two different groups of organisms due to ...

Lousy grouse: Comparing evolutionary patterns in Alaska galliform lice to understand host evolution and host-parasite interactions. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol, 2020
Genomic data from Alaska grouse species and their associated feather lice suggest a mixed history of host switching and codivergence between these organisms. The results give insight into the ecological and evolutionary history of grouse in Alaska, and also help us understand how hosts and their parasites interact over time. Abstract Understanding both

Berlin's queer archipelago: Landscape, sexuality, and nightlife

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Volume 48, Issue 1, Page 100-116, March 2023., 2023
Short Abstract The metaphor of the archipelago has informed ideas about Berlin's post‐war and post‐wall fractured urban landscape as well as recent work on sexual minorities in the city. Drawing on insights from queer and ruderal ecology, as well as some of the memory literature from the early German reunification‐era, this article explores Berlin's ...

Taking up space

open access: yesAesthetic Investigations, 2023
One of the many innovations with which performance art can be credited is its revolutionary approach to space-making and inhabitation. Its reanimation of objects, events and bodies takes up space as a material presence, which incidentally engenders a ...

The Visualisation of Cosmological Ideas in Contemporary Architecture [PDF]

open access: yesФилософия и космология, 2022
This article examines the influence of cosmological concepts on the formation of the new aesthetics of contemporary architecture. Architecture, since ancient times, has been a visualisation of man’s ideas about the structure of the cosmos.
