Extending the IFLA Library Reference Model for a Brazilian popular music digital library
International Journal on Digital Libraries, 2020Brazil is recognized as a musical country, with a diverse collection of musical resources served by many digital repositories and music libraries. Historically, those systems are supported by cataloging schemes that are insufficient because they follow standards more focused on the catalog record than on the structure of cataloged works.

Reference models for digital libraries: actors and roles
International Journal on Digital Libraries, 2005This article summarizes the discussions of the DELOS/NSF Working Group that reviewed current research and existing practice to better understand the ways in which actors and their roles are perceived within the digital library community. Definitions given to new roles depend too often on the narrow, subjective perspective of a local context.

An object-oriented reference model with frameworks and libraries

No.98EX224), 2002We propose an object oriented reference model with several middleware tools, which includes OODB, GUI libraries, and CORBA. It is approved that a software structure with a framework brings various advantages. However unplanned combinations of the different frameworks often cause the problem, which greatly decrease their expected effectiveness.

Design an Ideal Digital Reference Service (DRS) Model for Academic Libraries
2004An investigation on digital reference service (DRS) has been carried out amongst 30 world top university libraries. This paper summarizes the recommendable elements of DRS in these libraries. Then the basic characteristics are generalized and an ideal DRS model including eight modules for academic libraries will be introduced.
