Generalized Derivations of Lie Algebras
Let \(L\) be a finite dimensional Lie algebra with multiplication given by \(\mu\). The authors study the generalized derivations of \(L\), \(\text{GenDer}(L)\), consisting of the elements \(f\in\Hom(L,L)\) such that there exist \(f',f''\in\Hom(L,L)\) satisfying \(\mu(f(x),y)+\mu(x,f'(y))=f''(\mu(x,y))\) for all \(x,y\in L\).

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
