A miscibility gap in LiF-BeF₂ and LiF-BeF₂-ThF₄

open access: yes, 2005
LiF BeF₂ and LiF BeF₂ ThF₄ are key systems for Molten Salt Reactor fuel. The liquid phase of these systems has been assessed using Redlich Kister polynomials. The result shows a miscibility gap on the BeF₂-rich side. This has never been proven experimentally. Nevertheless, evidence for a two liquids region is given by the fact that such a region exists

Effect of 1 wt% LiF additive on the densification of nanocrystalline Y2O3 ceramics by spark plasma sintering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Densification of nanocrystalline cubic yttria (nc-Y2O3) powder, with 18 nm crystal size and 1 wt% LiF as a sintering additive was investigated. Specimens were fabricated by spark plasma sintering at 100 MPa, within the temperature range of 700–1500 °C ...

LiF-Modified SnO2 Electron Transport Layer Improves the Performance of Carbon-Based All-Inorganic CsPbIBr2 Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yes, 2022
SnO2 has gained wide attention because of its low synthesis temperature (approximately 150 °C), high electron mobility, and low manufacturing cost. However, the lattice mismatch at the SnO2/CsPbIBr2 interface and the oxygen vacancy leads to nonradiative ...

KILLING THE CURE? Is targeting LIF to treat pancreatic cancer a dangerous case of mistaken identity?

open access: yesMedicine in Drug Discovery, 2022
Leukaemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a stem cell growth factor critical to health. LIF belongs to the IL-6 family of cytokines but LIF-signalling is unique and qualified by its cell surface receptor, LIF-R.
