Methods of Testing Pharmacological Drugs Effects on Aging and Life Span in Mice
2013The methodology of testing antiaging drugs in laboratory mice is presented. It is based on more than 40-year-long authors' experience in the field and includes the selection of mouse strain, sex, age at start of treatment, housing conditions, design of the long-term study, some noninvasive methods of assessment of biomarkers of aging, life-span ...

Testing Generational, Life Cycle, and Period Effects of Age on Agenda Setting
Mass Communication and Society, 2013This study explores the relationship between age and the media's agenda-setting effects both by cross-sectional and longitudinal analysis. Using American National Election Studies surveys and the New York Times Index data from 1960 to 2004, we test three possible effects of age on the agenda-setting process: generational, life-cycle, and period effects.

Ageing assessment of supercapacitors during calendar life and power cycling tests
2009 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2009Supercapacitors, also known as ultracapacitors, are commonly based on porous activated carbon electrodes and electrostatic charge storage mechanisms. Carbon electrodes are supposed to be chemically and electrochemically inert and the electrostatic nature of the charge storage mechanism is highly reversible.

Microelectronics Reliability, 1995
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present a method of statistical analysis of Accelerated Life Test (ALT) data which allows to drop assumptions usually made on the type of life distribution function at each stress level and the life-stress relationship.

Leakage current effects on N-MOSFETs after thermal ageing in pulsed life tests
Microelectronics Journal, 2014This paper presents a synthesis of leakage current effects on N-MOSFET performances, after thermal ageing in pulsed life tests. A 3000h pulsed RF life test has been conducted on a dedicated RF S-band bench in operating modes. It is interesting to understand the degradation mechanism effects caused by the increase leakage current and in turn on drifts ...

Moving from lab testing of Active & Healthy Ageing technologies to real-life implementation
Proceedings of the 9th ACM International Conference on PErvasive Technologies Related to Assistive Environments, 2016This paper exhibits two different cases of pilot contexts, that embrace the main principles of the Living Lab approach, which is the user-driven testing and development of technology in real-life environments. In the first case, a pilot phase was conducted in an ehome-like space within the premises of the Lab of Medical Physics Laboratory, based on a ...

The prediction of the service life of a building product is needed for making life cycle cost decisions, for determining the risks and liabilities in marketing a product, and for helping to identify the causes of a product’s failure. Accurate estimates of the service life for building products, however, have traditionally been difficult to obtain.

Electrical double-layer capacitors: Evaluation of ageing phenomena during cycle life testing
Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2014This paper represents an assessment of the main ageing phenomena in electrical double-layer capacitors (EDLC). In this study the cycle life of the EDLC cells with a rated capacitance of 1600F has been investigated at different ambient temperatures and current rates.

Proceedings of 1994 4th International Conference on Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials (ICPADM), 2002
The accuracy of the results of life tests performed on insulating materials or systems may be influenced by the testing procedure, particularly significantly under accelerated multistress conditions. The accuracy of the life-model parameters estimated from these tests depends on the number of stress levels, values of applied stresses, the number of ...
