Ageing assessment of supercapacitors during calendar life and power cycling tests

2009 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2009
Supercapacitors, also known as ultracapacitors, are commonly based on porous activated carbon electrodes and electrostatic charge storage mechanisms. Carbon electrodes are supposed to be chemically and electrochemically inert and the electrostatic nature of the charge storage mechanism is highly reversible.

Electrical double-layer capacitors: Evaluation of ageing phenomena during cycle life testing

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2014
This paper represents an assessment of the main ageing phenomena in electrical double-layer capacitors (EDLC). In this study the cycle life of the EDLC cells with a rated capacitance of 1600F has been investigated at different ambient temperatures and current rates.

Negative life events and the adjustment of school-age children: Testing protective models

Journal of Clinical Child Psychology, 1998
Investigated the association between negative life events and protective factors in predicting the adaptive, emotional, and behavioral functioning of school-age children. Three possible models of this relation were tested using hierarchical analyses: the compensatory model, the challenge model, and the immunity/vulnerability model.

Identification of asphalt aging characterization by spectrophotometry technique

Fuel, 2018
During the construction and service life of asphalt pavement, the bituminous material is inevitably exposed to sunlight, oxygen, water, ambient temperature and other climate conditions, which lead to aging or oxidation of asphalt binder and thus ...

Internal aging indexes to characterize the aging behavior of two bio-rejuvenated asphalts

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2019
Profound progress has been made in bio-rejuvenators to enhance aged asphalt's low temperature performance and reduce its high temperature viscosity. However, limitation still exists in the knowledge how long service life of rejuvenated asphalt is and ...

Service Life Prediction from Accelerated Aging Test Results Using Reliability Theory and Life Testing Analysis

1985
The prediction of the service life of a building product is needed for making life cycle cost decisions, for determining the risks and liabilities in marketing a product, and for helping to identify the causes of a product’s failure. Accurate estimates of the service life for building products, however, have traditionally been difficult to obtain.

Methods of Testing Pharmacological Drugs Effects on Aging and Life Span in Mice

2013
The methodology of testing antiaging drugs in laboratory mice is presented. It is based on more than 40-year-long authors' experience in the field and includes the selection of mouse strain, sex, age at start of treatment, housing conditions, design of the long-term study, some noninvasive methods of assessment of biomarkers of aging, life-span ...

Testing Generational, Life Cycle, and Period Effects of Age on Agenda Setting

Mass Communication and Society, 2013
This study explores the relationship between age and the media's agenda-setting effects both by cross-sectional and longitudinal analysis. Using American National Election Studies surveys and the New York Times Index data from 1960 to 2004, we test three possible effects of age on the agenda-setting process: generational, life-cycle, and period effects.

Life prediction for epoxy resin insulated transformer windings through accelerated aging tests

2010 10th IEEE International Conference on Solid Dielectrics, 2010
This investigation aims to perform a probabilistic prediction of the lifetime of epoxy resin insulation of transformer windings. To support the prediction, several accelerated electrical aging tests were conducted at different voltage levels on epoxy resin insulated transformer winding specimens.

Accelerated life test data analysis with generalised life distribution function and with no aging model assumption

Microelectronics Reliability, 1995
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present a method of statistical analysis of Accelerated Life Test (ALT) data which allows to drop assumptions usually made on the type of life distribution function at each stress level and the life-stress relationship.
