Lifetime calculations in energy levels of Kr vii

open access: yesJournal of Physics Communications, 2017
Se presentan los cálculos de las vidas útiles para todos los niveles de energía experimentalmente conocidos del espectro del criptón seis veces ionizado (Kr vii). Se utilizó el método relativista de Hartree–Fock que incluye efectos de polarización del núcleo.

Diffusion Simulation and Lifetime Calculation at RHIC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The beam lifetime is an important parameter for any storage ring. For protons in RHIC it is dominated by the non-linear nature of the head-on collisions that causes the particles to diffuse outside the stable area in phase space. In this report we show results from diffusion simulation and lifetime calculation for the 2006 and 2008 polarized proton ...

Assessment of Depth Contact Endurance of Surface-Hardened Gears

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов
The main factors determining the performance of highly stressed surface-hardened gears of transmissions of energy-consuming machines are the parameters of a hardened layer, especially the behavior of hardness distribution over its thickness. The existing

DLTPulseGenerator: A library for the simulation of lifetime spectra based on detector-output pulses

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2018
The quantitative analysis of lifetime spectra relevant in both life and materials sciences presents one of the ill-posed inverse problems and, hence, leads to most stringent requirements on the hardware specifications and the analysis algorithms. Here we

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Two Approaches to the Problem of High-cycle Fatigue of Materials and Structures

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Creation of new types of materials and development of new methods aimed at extending the lifetime of structures are two interconnected approaches to solve the problem of metallic structures fatigue.

Effective lifetime of minority carriers in black silicon nano-textured by cones and pyramids

open access: yesSemiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics & Optoelectronics, 2017
We calculated the dependence of effective lifetime of minority carriers in black silicon nano-textured by cones and pyramids on the diameter of the cone base, the side of the pyramid base, the height of cone and pyramid.

LATTICE PHONON LIFETIME CALCULATIONS

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique Colloques, 1981
It is shown that phonon lifetimes can be calculated using finite periodicities and discrete frequencies without going completely to the limit of infinite periodicities or quasi-continuous frequency distributions. In applying the Golden Rule equation in time-dependent perturbation theory there is a time interval over which the transition rate is very ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
