Light-Induced Degradation of Cystine

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1964
Summary Experiments conducted with S 35 -labeled cystine in model or milk systems revealed that cystine is readily degraded into a variety of sulfur products upon exposure to either artificial fluorescent or natural light. Sulfur products formed included H 2 S, and various unidentified forms of RSH, R-S-R, R-S-S-R, and carbonyl compounds. Cystine S 35

CSL encodes a leucine-rich-repeat protein implicated in red/violet light signaling to the circadian clock in Chlamydomonas. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2017
The green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii shows various light responses in behavior and physiology. One such photoresponse is the circadian clock, which can be reset by external light signals to entrain its oscillation to daily environmental cycles.

Synthesis of visible-light-activated yellow amorphous TiO2 photocatalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Visible-light-activated yellow amorphous TiO2 (yam-TiO2) was synthesised by a simple and organic-free precipitation method. TiN, an alternative precursor for TiO2 preparation, was dissolved in hydrogen peroxide under acidic condition ( pH similar to 1 ...

Preventing light-induced degradation in multicrystalline silicon [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2014
Multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) is currently dominating the silicon solar cell market due to low ingot costs, but its efficiency is limited by transition metals, extended defects, and light-induced degradation (LID). LID is traditionally associated with a boron-oxygen complex, but the origin of the degradation in the top of the commercial mc-Si brick ...

The Impact of Thermal Treatment on Light-Induced Degradation of Multicrystalline Silicon PERC Solar Cell

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) PERC (passivated emitter and rear cell) solar cells suffer from severe light-induced degradation (LID), which mainly consists of two mechanisms, namely, BO-LID (boron⁻oxygen complex-related LID) and LeTID (light and

Light induced degradation of amorphous silicon containing nanocrystalline silicon

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2014
The effect of light soaking (LS) is studied in hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) containing different amounts of nanocrystals, prepared by varying the deposition conditions in a plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) system. We find that

Degradation behavior of crystalline silicon solar cells in a cell-level potential-induced degradation test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The degradation behavior of crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells in a cell-level potential-induced degradation (PID) test and the effect of the test conditions are reported. The PID tests were performed in a vacuum chamber by applying a voltage of 1000
