EROS light-curve database

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context . The project called Expérience de Recherche d’Objets Sombres (EROS) carried out photometric surveys of dense stellar fields toward the Magellanic Clouds (LMC and SMC), the Galactic bulge and Galactic spiral arms in the period 1990-2003.

Light curves analysis of AB Andromedae

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 1986
AbstractThe new B and V light curves of the eclipsing variable AB And obtained during 1979 are analysed. Frequency Domain techniques is used and new geometric and photometric elements are given.

MODELING THE LIGHT CURVE OF THE TRANSIENT SCP06F6 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2009
We consider simple models based on core collapse or pair-formation supernovae to account for the light curve of the transient SCP06F6. A radioactive decay diffusion model provides estimates of the mass of the required radioactive nickel and the ejecta as functions of the unknown redshift.

Space debris observations with the Slovak AGO70telescope: Astrometry and light curves

open access: yes, 2020
The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia (FMPI) operates its own 0.7-m Newtonian telescope (AGO70) dedicated to the space surveillance tracking and research, with an emphasis on space debris.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

NEW BINARY SYSTEMS WITH ASYMMETRIC LIGHT CURVES

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2010
We present the results of investigation of the light curves of 27 newly discovered binary systems. Among the examined curves, there were 10 curves with statistically significant asymmetry of maximums, according the 3σ criterion for the difference ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells
