Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Probing light quark Yukawa couplings through angularity distributions in Higgs boson decay

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We propose to utilize angularity distributions in Higgs boson decay to probe light quark Yukawa couplings at e + e − colliders. Angularities τ a are a class of 2-jet event shapes with variable and tunable sensitivity to the distribution of radiation in ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Measurement of charged-hadron distributions in heavy-flavor jets in proton-proton collisions at s = 13 $$ \sqrt{s}=13 $$ TeV

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Charged-hadron distributions in heavy-flavor jets are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s = 13 $$ \sqrt{s}=13 $$ TeV collected by the LHCb experiment.

The evaluation of citation distributions. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper reviews a number of recent contributions that demonstrate that a blend of welfare economics and statistical analysis is useful in the evaluation of the citations received by scientific papers in the periodical literature.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Vesicle sizing Number distributions by dynamic light scattering

open access: yes, 1991
A procedure is described which optimizes nonnegative least squares and exponential sampling fitting methods for analysis of dynamic light scattering (DLS) data from aqueous suspensions of vesicle/liposome systems.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Gluon GTMDs at nonzero skewness and impact parameter dependent parton distributions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We investigate the leading twist generalized transverse momentum dependent parton distributions (GTMDs) of the unpolarized and longitudinally polarized gluons in the nucleon.

Precise Optical Modeling of Phosphor-Converted LEDs With Arbitrary Concentration and Thickness Using Bidirectional Scattering Distribution Function

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
Phosphor-converted light-emitting diode (pcLED) is one of the most promising methods to generate white light. The interaction of the excitation light with the phosphor in pcLED is a complicated phenomenon, combining light absorption, light conversion ...
