Light extraction efficiency enhancement of colloidal quantum dot light-emitting diodes using large-scale nanopillar arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cataloged from PDF version of article.A colloidal quantum dot light-emitting diode (QLED) is reported with substantially enhanced light extraction efficiency by applying a layer of large-scale, low-cost, periodic nanopillar arrays. Zinc oxide nanopillars

A Novel Liquid Packaging Structure of Deep-Ultraviolet Light-Emitting Diodes to Enhance the Light-Extraction Efficiency

open access: yesCrystals, 2019
To realize high-efficiency, AlGaN-based, deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (DUV-LEDs), enhancing their light-extraction efficiency and reducing thermal resistance is very crucial.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The Effect of Sapphire Substrates on Omni-Directional Reflector Design for Flip-Chip Near-Ultraviolet Light-Emitting Diodes

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
In this paper, we investigate the effect of omni-directional reflectors (ODRs) on the light extraction efficiency (LEE) for flip-chip near-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on patterned (PSS) and flat sapphire substrate (FSS) using three ...

Comparison of the device physics principles of planar and radial p-n junction nanorod solar cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A device physics model has been developed for radial p-n junction nanorod solar cells, in which densely packed nanorods, each having a p-n junction in the radial direction, are oriented with the rod axis parallel to the incident light direction.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Enhanced light emission from top-emitting organic light-emitting diodes by optimizing surface plasmon polariton losses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We demonstrate enhanced light extraction for monochrome top-emitting organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The enhancement by a factor of 1.2 compared to a reference sample is caused by the use of a hole transport layer (HTL) material possessing a low ...
