Moving Slit Light Field Display
ACM SIGGRAPH 2010 Posters, 2010This paper describes the design of a parallax based Moving Slit Light Field Display (MSLFD). A MSLFD shows multi parallax images, by using vertical slits in an opaque cylinder surrounding multiple static flat panel displays. It allows viewers looking towards the cylinder to see an image from any position.

An interactive 360° light field display
ACM SIGGRAPH 2007 emerging technologies, 2007While a great deal of computer generated imagery is modeled and rendered in 3D, the vast majority of this 3D imagery is shown on 2D displays. Various forms of 3D displays have been contemplated and constructed for at least one hundred years [Lippman 1908], but only recent evolutions in digital capture, computation, and display have made functional and ...

We propose near-eye light field displays that enable thin, lightweight head-mounted displays (HMDs) capable of presenting nearly correct convergence, accommodation, binocular disparity, and retinal defocus depth cues. Sharp images are depicted by out-of-focus elements by synthesizing light fields corresponding to virtual objects within a viewer's ...

A simulator for a light field display
SPIE Proceedings, 2017A simulator which can test the visual perception response of light field displays is introduced. The simulator can provide up to 8 view images to each eye simultaneously to test the differences between different numbers of different view images in supermultiview condition.

Light-Field Displays: a View-Dependent Approach
ACM SIGGRAPH 2020 Emerging Technologies, 2020Most 3D displays suffer from the vergence-accommodation conflict, which is a significant contributor to eyestrain. Light-field displays avoid this conflict by directly supporting accommodation but they are viewed as requiring too much resolution to be practical, due to the tradeoff between spatial and angular resolution.

Accommodometer for Light Field display
Imaging and Applied Optics 2018 (3D, AO, AIO, COSI, DH, IS, LACSEA, LS&C, MATH, pcAOP), 2018We had study that verifying whether the LF display provides accommodative function, and quantifying the focusable range at the reconstruction image space in which permitted by the focusable power served by the ...

Advances in Display Technologies VIII, 2018
In this paper, a new type of light field display by combining additive and multiplicative light field displays is proposed. Combination of the two types of compressive light field displays makes the system compact, improves the light efficiency, and alleviates the diffraction effect.

Light-field displays and light-field optics
2016 15th Workshop on Information Optics (WIO), 2016Light-field optics is a novel system in which image is exchangeable in between 2D (light-field data) and real 3D, although this technology is well known just for refocusing ...

Ray tracing for HoloVizio light field displays
2017 International Conference on 3D Immersion (IC3D), 2017Ray tracing is a well-known method of virtual 3D scene visualization. Nowadays it is mostly used for the rendering of photo-realistic static pictures for conventional 2D displays. In this paper, we describe the implementation of a ray tracing algorithm for a specific type of 3D rendering system, namely for the HoloVizio horizontally parallax light ...

Multi-layer light field display characterisation
2016 3DTV-Conference: The True Vision - Capture, Transmission and Display of 3D Video (3DTV-CON), 2016Light field 3D displays, where a hologram-like image is produced by using geometrical optical techniques as opposed to interference of light, require different measurement procedures to conventional stereoscopic displays for the measurement of certain parameters.
