Growth and Nutrient Element Content of Hydroponic Lettuce are Modified by LED Continuous Lighting of Different Intensities and Spectral Qualities

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
LED red (R) and blue (B) continuous light (CL) is a potential efficient way to increase plant productivity of plant factory with artificial light (PFAL), but limited information was explored about their effects on plant mineral nutrition.

Growth and development of soybean under changing light environments in relay intercropping system [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2019
Background Maize-soybean relay-intercropping (MSR) is a famous system of crop production in developing countries. However, maize shading under this system directly affects the light quality and intensity of soybean canopy.

Light-by-light scattering in intense lasers [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of International Conference on the Structure and the Interactions of the Photon including the 20th International Workshop on Photon-Photon Collisions and the International Workshop on High Energy Photon Linear Colliders — PoS(Photon 2013), 2014
We present results of calculations for measuring the process of real photon-photon scattering using modern intense lasers. When a 10 PW beam is split into two colliding pulses, we show that the elastic process is in principle measurable at upcoming laser facilities.

Review: The influence of light on pig welfare

open access: yesAnimal
While several countries impose minimum light requirements for pig housing, it remains unknown whether these requirements are beneficial for pig welfare. Therefore, we aim to review the current knowledge on the effects of light on pig welfare.
