Plant-based dietary miRNAS: cross-border regulatory factors for regulating glycolipid metabolism and their nutritional intervention strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
Disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism represent a major global health burden, driving the need for innovative nutritional interventions. Emerging evidence suggests that dietary microRNAs (miRNAs) from plants can act as cross-kingdom regulators. These

Fabrication and characterization of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) modified with nano-montmorillonite biocomposite

open access: yese-Polymers, 2020
In this study, a poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) modified with nano-montmorillonite biocomposite (MMT/PHBH) was fabricated by solution-casting method. The results showed that the addition of MMT increased the crystallinity and the number of

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Research on non-destructive detection of chilled meat quality based on hyperspectral technology combined with different data processing methods

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
This study utilized hyperspectral technology in conjunction with chemometric methods for the non-destructive assessment of chilled meat quality. Average spectra were extracted from regions of interest within hyperspectral images and further optimized ...

Resonator channel drop filters in a plasmon-polaritons metal

open access: yes, 2006
Channel drop filters in a plasmon-polaritons metal are studied. It shows that light can be efficiently dropped. Results obtained by the FDTD method are consistent with those from coupled mode theory.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Effect of ultrasound treatment on the emulsion gelling properties of PSE-like chicken myofibrillar protein

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food
The effects of ultrasound treatment (20 kHz, 0, 150, 300, 450, 600 W, 6 min) on the gel properties of PSE (pale, soft, and exudative)-like chicken myofibrillar protein (MP) emulsion gels were studied. When the ultrasound power increased from 0 W to 600 W,

High-quality ion beams by irradiating a nano-structured target with a petawatt laser pulse

open access: yes, 2009
We present a novel laser based ion acceleration scheme, where a petawatt circularly polarized laser pulse is shot on an ultra-thin (nano-scale) double-layer target.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Light Transmission Through Arctic Sea Ice - Large-Scale Studies on Seasonality and Spatial Variability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Arctic sea ice has declined and become thinner and more seasonal during the last decade. One consequence of this is that the surface energy budget of the Arctic Ocean is changing.
