Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

CML38 is involved in NO-induced inhibition of hypocotyl elongation in Arabidopsis
Calcium ions (Ca2+) are vital in plants, functioning both as structural cellular components and key secondary messengers that regulate growth, development, and stress responses.

Auxin is a hormone that is required for hypocotyl elongation during seedling development. In response to auxin, rapid changes in transcript and protein abundance occur in hypocotyls, and some auxin responsive gene expression is linked to hypocotyl growth.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

In the past two decades, important progress has allowed a better understanding of how light signals are perceived by plants, not only as a source of energy for photosynthesis but also as environmental cues that modulate growth, development, and stress ...

Signalling in light-controlled development
Plants continuously analyze the nature of environmental light signals using an array of at least eight informational photoreceptors, each with differential functional roles. Molecular and genetic studies are identifying an increasing assembly of potential or established signalling intermediates involved in transducing perceived signals from these ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Intermittent Supplemental Irradiation With Blue Light Promotes Leafy Heads in Lettuce
Red and blue lights are the most effective spectral components absorbed by plants and are typically applied in a constant spectrum in plant factory agricultural practices. Research and application of non‐constant light modes are relatively rare.

Integration of light and metabolic signals for stem cell activation at the shoot apical meristem
A major feature of embryogenesis is the specification of stem cell systems, but in contrast to the situation in most animals, plant stem cells remain quiescent until the postembryonic phase of development. Here, we dissect how light and metabolic signals

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
