CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Deficits in facial, body movement and vocal emotional processing in autism spectrum disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background. Previous behavioural and neuroimaging studies of emotion processing in autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) have focused on the use of facial stimuli. To date, however, no studies have examined emotion processing in autism across a broad range of

Impact of light spectral combinations on morphology, yield, and quality of indoor-grown cilantro

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems
Advanced indoor farming systems utilizing artificial lighting to produce high-quality crops are rapidly gaining research interest. Specific light spectra from artificial lights can create optimal conditions for indoor plant cultivation. Cilantro, an herb

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Development of a Portable Spectroradiometer for Assessing the Light Environment in Crop Production

open access: yesAgriEngineering
When growing plants in artificial conditions, it is important to control the lighting parameters, both natural and artificial. This study explored the feasibility of creating a low-cost portable spectroradiometer for assessing the light environment in ...

Spectrum of the Electric Light

open access: yesNature, 1881
WILL you, or one of your spectroscopical contributors, kindly inform me in what respects (if at all) the spectrum of the electric light differs from that of the sun? At a time apparently not far distant from the almost universal application of the electric light, the question I ask is not unimportant, as it, I believe, affects the tolerance of the ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Light Spectral-Ranged Specific Metabolisms of Plant Pigments

open access: yesMetabolites
Chlorophyll is the primary pigment responsible for capturing light energy during photosynthesis, while carotenoids assist in light absorption and provide photoprotection by dissipating excess energy.
