Spatiotemporal characteristic analysis of PM2.5 in central China and modeling of driving factors based on MGWR: a case study of Henan Province

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2023
Since the start of the twenty-first century, China's economy has grown at a high or moderate rate, and air pollution has become increasingly severe. The study was conducted using data from remote sensing observations between 1998 and 2019, employing the ...

TeCre: A Novel Temporal Conflict Resolution Method Based on Temporal Knowledge Graph Embedding

open access: yesInformation, 2023
Since the facts in the knowledge graph (KG) cannot be updated automatically over time, some facts have temporal conflicts. To discover and eliminate the temporal conflicts in the KG, this paper proposes a novel temporal conflict resolution method based ...

PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE WATER DEPLETED OF HEAVY ISOTOPES [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry Journal of Moldova: General, Industrial and Ecological Chemistry, 2012
Data on physicochemical properties of the light water (deuterium concentration is reduced to the ratio D/H = 4 ppm and that of the isotope of oxygen 18 – to the ratio 18O/16O = 750 ppm) have been obtained.

Self-assembled photonic mesostructures for water splitting photoanodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Solar water splitting is a relevant principle for the production of green hydrogen fuel. A wealth of different designs has been envisioned to produce hydrogen using sunlight.

Water quality assessment, trophic classification and water resources management

open access: yes, 2010
Quantification of water quality (WQ) is an integral part of scientifically based water resources management. The main objective of this study was comparative analysis of two approaches applied for quantitative assessment of WQ: the trophic level index ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Light Water Reactor Safety

open access: yes, 2012
This chapter deals with light water reactor (LWR) safety. LWR safety is all about estimating the risks posed by an individual or a population of nuclear power plants (NPPs) to the public at large and the efforts to reduce these risks.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Rapid revegetation by sowing seed mixtures of shrub and herbaceous species [PDF]

open access: yesSolid Earth, 2015
Fast revegetation by means of sowing seed mixtures of shrub and herbaceous species is a measure to prevent bare soils from wind and water erosion. A field experiment was used to test the effect of species selection and the ratio of shrub to herbaceous ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
