Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

South Platte Water Rights Management System

open access: yes, 1995
The South Platte Water Rights Management System (SPWRMS) is a set of computer programs created to assist water administrators in their daily duties and to make the results of their decisions known in a more timely manner.

Disinfection of grey water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The reuse of grey water, for applications such as toilet flushing and irrigation, represents a potential sustainable solution to water shortages experienced by regions worldwide. Although reused grey water is not intended for potable use, the potential

Light intensity, photoperiod duration, daily light flux and coral growth of Galaxea fascicularis in an aquarium setting: a matter of photons?

open access: yes, 2012
Light is one of the most important abiotic factors influencing the (skeletal) growth of scleractinian corals. Light stimulates coral growth by the process of light-enhanced calcification, which is mediated by zooxanthellar photosynthesis.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Estimation of phytoplankton concentration from downwelling irradiance measurements in water

open access: yes, 2012
The downwelling irradiance spectrum is so far not used directly for the determination of water constituents, mainly due to the large and unpredictable fluctuations of the underwater light field induced by the water surface.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in development and response to water stress in Eucalyptus benthamii seedlings (Myrtaceae)

open access: yes, 2023
: Plants use light as a source of energy in the process of photosynthesis. Different levels of luminosity cause physiological and morphological changes in the plant, and its success depends on its adaptation to these different levels.

Bioconversion of Alpha-Cembratriene-4,6-diol into High-Value Compound Farnesal Through Employment of a Novel Stenotrophomonas maltophilia H3-1 Strain

open access: yesMolecules
Alpha-cembratriene-4,6-diol (α-CBT-diol) is a complex diterpenoid primarily found in Solanaceae (i.e., tobacco leaves), Pinaceae, and marine corals. Due to its intricate chemical structure, it serves as a precursor for several aroma compounds, including ...
