Light Yield and Light Collection Uniformity
2018Given the large size of the CsI[Na] detector, a crucial calibration was to probe the light collection uniformity along the crystal. A 241Am source was placed on the outside of the copper can at nine equally spaced positions along the length of the CsI[Na] detector to measure the light collection uniformity in the CsI[Na] crystal.

Singlet Generation Yields in Organic Light-Emitting Diodes
Proceedings of the IEEE, 2009A major potential difference between polymer and small molecule organic light-emitting devices is the possibility of spin-dependent charge recombination in the latter. In this case, the singlet exciton formation yield, one of the key parameters that determines device efficiencies, deviates from the simple quantum mechanical spin statistics prediction ...

Iron sensitizer converts light to electrons with 92% yield
Nature Chemistry, 2015Solar energy conversion in photovoltaics or photocatalysis involves light harvesting, or sensitization, of a semiconductor or catalyst as a first step. Rare elements are frequently used for this purpose, but they are obviously not ideal for large-scale implementation.

Light, photosynthesis, quality and yield in blueberries.
2012AbstractThis chapter describes the physiology (functioning) of a blueberry (Vaccinium sp.) plant with regard to the generation and distribution of carbohydrates. Factors that are involved in dry matter production and partitioning among the various plant organs, and the effect of several environmental variables and management practices on dry matter ...

Sputtering yields for light ions as a function of angle of incidence
Applied Physics, 1979The sputtering yield of Ni, Mo, and Au have been measured at oblique angles of incidence for H+-, D+-, and4He+-ion irradiation in the energy region from 1 to 8 keV. The yields were determined from the weight loss of the targets. For Ni and Mo the dependence of the sputtering yield on the angle of incidence was found to be much stronger for H+- and D ...

Investigating the microstructure of a yield-stress fluid by light scattering
Physical Review E, 2011We report the results of an experimental study of the microstructure of dispersions of Carbopol ETD 2050, a model yield-stress fluid. Using two different light scattering instruments, measurements were made over three decades in scattering wave vector, from 0.02 to 25 μm⁻¹.

Investigation of Supplemental Lighting with Different Light Source for High Yield of Strawberry
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2013Abstract Although supplemental lighting has been successfully used to boost greenhouse vegetable production, it has not found wide application in forced strawberry cultivation. In this study, we examined the effect of supplemental lighting from two different light sources on strawberry growth and yield.

Responses of soybean yield and yield components to light enrichment and planting density
2010Light intensity intercepted by the soybean canopy during the reproductive period is an important environmental factor determining soybean yield components and grain yield. A 2-year field experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of light enrichment and its interaction with planting density on yield formation of soybean cultivars.

Intrinsic energy resolution and light yield nonproportionality of BGO
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2003The intrinsic energy resolution and nonproportionality of the light yield as a function of gamma ray energies, in the energy range of 14 keV to 1.33 MeV, were studied for small BGO (Bi/sub 4/Ge/sub 3/O/sub 12/) crystals at room and liquid nitrogen (LN/sub 2/) temperatures.
