Prescribed burning policies prioritise human lives and avoidance of property losses. However, some species require fire to survive. We find the ‘right to fire’ is not prioritised in prescribed burning policy.

In the case of the war in Vietnam, Australian men often interacted with local women on base, in civilian spaces, or in passing. Occasionally, couples would form private relationships and, in some cases, marry and return to Australia at the end of deployment.

Decentralized propaganda in the era of digital media: The massive presence of the Chinese state on Douyin

Abstract The rise of social media in the digital era poses unprecedented challenges to authoritarian regimes that aim to influence public attitudes and behaviors. To address these challenges, we argue that authoritarian regimes have adopted a decentralized approach to produce and disseminate propaganda on social media.
