Foundations of Ghost Stability

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, EarlyView.
Abstract The authors present a new method to analytically prove global stability in ghost‐ridden dynamical systems. The proposal encompasses all prior results and consequentially extends them. In particular, it is shown that stability can follow from a conserved quantity that is unbounded from below, contrary to expectation.

Examining wildfire dynamics using ECOSTRESS data with machine learning approaches: the case of South‐Eastern Australia's black summer

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Australia experienced one of the most devastating and intense wildfire seasons on record in 2019–2020. One challenge is to create effective models to identify areas prone to wildfires and understand the vulnerable conditions that will lead to these catastrophic events.

Advances in MEMS, Optical MEMS, and Nanophotonics Technologies for Volatile Organic Compound Detection and Applications

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are ubiquitous in natural and human environments, posing environmental and health risks. Recent advancements in micro‐electromechanical system and optical sensing offer new possibilities for VOC detection. This article reviews their progress, focusing on mechanisms, artificial intelligence enhancement, and applications

Spectrum and Evolution of Systems Engineering's Guiding Propositions

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Systems engineering's practice is informed by many hundreds of guiding propositions, but their diverse nature and inconsistent categorization hinder systematic aggregation and refinement. This paper introduces a framework for understanding the origins and evolution of these propositions and proposes a unifying classification scheme. We propose

Assemblage of art, discourse and ice hockey: Designing knowledge about work

open access: yesJournal of Sociolinguistics, Volume 26, Issue 5, Page 553-567, November 2022., 2022
Abstract This article examines speculative design's capacity to co‐produce knowledge about contradictions and potentialities of work in professional ice hockey. Building on the Deleuzian concept of assemblage, speculative design has been used for two purposes: (a) to bring together the perspectives of art, anthropology, discourse studies, and ...

Development of Lightning Simulator [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
In this work we have developed a lightning simulator. Reproducing the light of lightning, we adopted seven waveforms that contains two light waveforms and five current waveforms of lightning. Furthermore, the lightning simulator can calibrate the color of the simulated light output based on a correlated color temperature (CCT). The CCT of the simulated
