Dietary anthocyanidin pelargonidin activates G protein‐coupled receptor 35

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 5, Page 1386-1399, March 2026.
Pelargonidin, a red‐fruit‐derived anthocyanidin, was newly identified as a dietary agonist of GPR35, a metabolite‐sensing GPCR implicated in anti‐inflammation. Through screening of dietary compounds, pelargonidin emerged as a potent GPR35 agonist, attenuating inflammation in human intestinal cells.

Co‐localization of tau and TDP‐43 after extracellular vesicle delivery to cells

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 5, Page 1495-1515, March 2026.
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from donor cells transfected with EGFP–2N4R‐tau or mCherry‐wtTDP‐43 were taken up by recipient cells, leading to cytosolic co‐localization of tau and TDP‐43. Molecular modeling revealed that tau and TDP‐43 directly interact through hydrogen bonding, suggesting a mechanistic link underlying their co‐pathology ...

The Stuck Electorate: Polarization, Nationalization, and the Consolidation of Party in the Trump Era

open access: yesPresidential Studies Quarterly, Volume 56, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The 2024 presidential election unfolded under extraordinary circumstances—the mid‐campaign withdrawal of an incumbent president, the nomination of the first woman of color by a major party, and the reelection of a president defeated 4 years earlier. Yet the outcome revealed an electorate that looked much like 2016 and 2020.

Clathrins Are Involved in the Endocytosis of Host Cytosol in the Malaria Parasite

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 1, March 2026.
This study characterized clathrin function in hemoglobin uptake from host red blood cells via the malaria parasite's specific endocytosis machinery, cytostome. Clathrin heavy chain, clathrin light chain, and AP‐1 γ subunit were found associated with certain proteins known to be involved in cytostome function, and they were localized at the collars of ...

Systolic‐dominant coronary flow in rats and mice: Challenging the diastolic paradigm across conscious and anaesthetized states

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 3, Page 684-699, 1 March 2026.
Abstract Extensive research in humans, dogs, rabbits, rats, mice and other mammals has consistently demonstrated that coronary blood flow (CBF) peaks during ventricular diastole. For example, studies using transthoracic Doppler echocardiography in anaesthetized rats and mice, isolated blood‐perfused rat hearts and Doppler probes sutured to the ...
