ALLPC: A Lightweight Block Cipher Based on Generalized Feistel Networks for IoT

IEEE International Performance, Computing, and Communications Conference, 2021
As millions of intelligent devices are gradually deployed at the edge of networks, a large amount of private and sensitive data generated at those devices need to be transmitted, stored and processed safely among these devices, which become a serve ...

FPGA implementation of LBlock lightweight block cipher

2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT), 2016
The ubiquitous computing era is characterized by wide deployment of resource constraint devices. Secure communication between such devices encounters a big challenge due to their resource limitation. The lightweight cryptographic algorithms are developed to address this challenge.

FeW: A Lightweight Block Cipher

2018
In this paper, we propose a new lightweight block cipher \textit{FeW} which encrypts plaintext in the blocks of 64-bit using 80/128 bits key to produce 64-bit ciphertext. We also propose a new structure namely \emph{Feistel-M structure} by admixture of Feistel and 4-branch  generalised Feistel structures. This new structure significantly contributes to

OLBCA: A New Lightweight Block Cipher Algorithm

2014 3rd International Conference on Advanced Computer Science Applications and Technologies, 2014
Light weight block cipher algorithms are vital for constrained environment. It is easy to propose an algorithm that optimize any two factors like (security and cost), (security and performance) and (cost and performance) but it is difficult to optimize three factors together at the same time.

Lightweight block ciphers for resource-constrained devices

2020 12th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks and Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP), 2020
Lightweight cryptography is a new branch of cryptography focused on providing security to resource-constraint devices such as wireless sensor networks (WSN), Radio-Frequency Identification (RFIDs) and other embedded systems. The factors considered in lightweight cryptography are mainly circuit area, memory requirement, processing time, latency, power ...

LiCi: A new ultra-lightweight block cipher

2017 International Conference on Emerging Trends & Innovation in ICT (ICEI), 2017
In this paper, we have presented a new lightweight, low power block cipher “LiCi”. The cipher LiCi has Feistel based network which operates on 64 bits plain text and with the help of 128 bits key length it generates 64 bits cipher text. This cipher design shows good performance both on hardware as well as on software platforms.

The SIMON and SPECK lightweight block ciphers

Proceedings of the 52nd Annual Design Automation Conference, 2015
The Simon and Speck families of block ciphers were designed specifically to offer security on constrained devices, where simplicity of design is crucial. However, the intended use cases are diverse and demand flexibility in implementation. Simplicity, security, and flexibility are ever-present yet conflicting goals in cryptographic design.

Lightweight block ciphers with applications in IoT

2019
This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive survey of lightweight block ciphers that have been designed for resource-constrained IoT platforms. The implementations of 10 lightweight block ciphers are compared on 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers by using evaluation metrics such as power and energy consumption, latency, security level ...

Eight-sided fortress: a lightweight block cipher

The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, 2014
Abstract In this paper, we present a new lightweight block cipher named eight-sided fortress (ESF), which is suitable for resource-constrained environments such as sensor networks and low-cost radio rrequency identification (RFID) tags. Meanwhile, we present the specification, design rationale and evaluation results in terms of the hardware ...
